Navigating the New UK Corporate Governance Code: Implementing Finance Controls Effectively
In January 2024, the FRC released the long-anticipated update to the Corporate Governance Code, which includes a requirement for a more detailed disclosure regarding a company’s internal controls. This continues the UK’s journey towards increased focus on the reporting of internal controls, requiring companies to consider carefully how they operate their risk management and control frameworks.
In a recent 2023 FloQast survey of over 350 accounting professionals, we discovered that 63% of the respondents are unsure if they have sufficient resources in place to support their control and compliance function – and 70% reported not being fully automated to meet the demands of a continually evolving compliance landscape.
Join Hugh O’Neill, Manager, Sales Engineering EMEA at FloQast (former Finance Director), and Lionel Matsuya, Senior Manager, Enterprise Control at PwC UK (11 years experience advising clients about controls), to learn more about what is expected of companies:
- What is happening?
- When is it happening?
- Who will need to comply?
- How to set up an effective and automated compliance program.
- Have real-time visibility and gain confidence in the operating effectiveness of your controls environment.
